lejanos estan los días en los que black rebel motorcycle club y starsailor figuraban entre lo más comentado en las islas británicas; tentando los starsailor un salto hacia el mercado estadounidense y los brmc consolidándose como parte de lo mejor que había salido de las entrañas del new rock. en el 2005 los black rebel lanzaron howl, luego de repetir la fórmula de su primer disco en take them on, ahora los brmc se van hacia un lado más blues, desconectando las distorsiones que caracterizaban sus dos primeros trabajos; de ese disco ingresa ain't no easy way en el puesto 44. mientras tanto, los starsailor con su tercer disco ganan en fuerza y de ese disco, llamado on the outside -afuera del mainstream será- ingresa la canción que abre el disco, in the crossfire, en el puesto 25.
