cripple crow (xl) es el último disco de devendra banhart; demasiado prolificos para componer, grabar y lanzar sus canciones; algo que los llevó a lanzar dos discos el año pasado (niño rojo y rejoicing in the hands); una prolijidad que se convierte en un defecto en este último trabajo. 22 canciones son demasiadas para este disco, cuya primera mitad podría tildarse de notable, curiosa, minimalista, pegajosa, melancólica, folk, infantil, clásica, bluesera, y variada; especialmente en los primeros 3 temas, los mejores del disco, entre ellos está pensando en tí, nuevo ingreso esta semana en el puesto 44. la segunda parte del disco peca de reiterativa, con un evidente agotamiento en la fórmula del disco; lo que conlleva a sentir haber escuchado esas mismas canciones apenas un rato antes, con algunas excepciones, como chinese children o los rasgeos de sawkill river. y yo que pensaba ponerlos entre mis discos de la semana pasada.
